National Police Week | Remembering Fallen Officers and Deputies in the Triad

A look at some of the officers and deputies that gave their lives in the line of duty across the Piedmont Triad.

They gave their all and now it's time to remember law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.

National Police Week takes place from May 13 through May 19. It's a natural time to remember and honor officers and deputies that served to make us safe at home and in our community.

Savannah, Ga. Sgt. Kelvin Ansari died Saturday night while approaching a robbery suspect. WCNC reports Ansari was from Charlotte.

The risks law enforcement take simply by showing up to work shouldn't be taken for granted and is a crucial element in the safety and security we feel as Americans.

If you know of other local officers or deputies that died in the line of duty, please email us at webteam@wfmy.com and we'll add them to this list.
