LIST: School district closings, remote learning for Tuesday, Jan. 18

School districts are announcing closures due to icy roads.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Editor's Note: The video features an update Tuesday on roads in Greensboro.

School districts are announcing their plans to either close or operate on a remote learning day for Tuesday, Jan. 18, following Sunday’s winter storm as many side roads are still icy.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS 

The following schools will be closed:

  • Caswell County Schools
  • Davidson County Schools
  • Davie County Schools
  • Danville Public City Schools 
  • Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools 
  • Thomasville City Schools 
  • Elkin City Schools 
  • Martinsville City Schools
  • Montgomery County Schools
  • Patrick County Schools
  • Stokes County Schools 
  • Surry County Schools
  • Rockingham County Schools 
  • Yadkin County Schools 
  • Guilford Co. Schools was already scheduled to be off for Tuesday. However, the district said due to road conditions and expected freezing overnight, all GCS facilities will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 18. ACES is cancelled for participating students.
