GREENSBORO, N.C. — The flu death toll has reached triple digits in North Carolina.
115 people in our state have died from the flu or complications from the flu.
15 of those deaths happened between February 16th and February 22nd of this year.
Part of the problem has been the spread of Influenza B, a much less common form of the virus that is particularly dangerous for children. The flu shot usually protects against Influenza A.
Regardless, experts urge everyone to get a flu shot if they haven't already. They also urge everyone to regularly wash their hands to keep from spreading contamination.
