The event aimed to make the community aware of numerous new gun bills currently being proposed to Congress that could shape the country's future.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — March For Our Lives (MFOL) held a special event in downtown Greensboro Saturday.

The event aimed to combat gun violence and make the community more aware of numerous new gun bills being proposed to Congress that could shape the country's future.

Please join us in LeBauer Park on March 23! Many new bills are being proposed to congress that will shape our country's future surrounding gun violence! It is crucial that we let our politicians know...

According to the MFOL Facebook page, the organization wanted the community to be 'INVOLVED' as possible!

To help them do so, serval tables were set up at Saturday's event for attendees to write letters to their representatives in opposition of certain bills.

Specifically, MFOL focussed on attendees writing senators demanding they pass S.42.

This bill establishes new background check requirements for gun transfers between private parties according to Congress.gov.
