Family of Man Murdered in Greensboro Pleads for an Arrest; Crimestoppers Reward up to $17,000

Christopher Young was shot in October 6, 2018. He died the next day.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Months have passed, but there are still no leads or arrests in the case of a Greensboro murder.

Christopher Young was killed after he was gunned down in October.

Now, new Crimestoppers billboards are up around Greensboro, reminding people of the case and urging someone to call in with tips.

Christopher's mother, Cynthia, was too emotional to speak with us tonight on camera, but says the loss of her only son is the most painful thing she's ever endured.

Christopher's mentor, John Williams, still feels the pain months after his friend was shot to death in the Sedgefield Square parking lot.

"I think it all came to a head when I viewed his remains in a casket," said Williams. "You know, you expect them to bury you. You don't expect to bury them and that was really tough for me."

In the last week, $15,000 dollars were donated, bringing to total reward money to $17,000.

Williams hopes the large amount will compel someone to finally come forward, even anonymously, with clues to lead to an arrest.

He says the grief is overwhelming, and while nothing will bring Christopher back, justice will help.

"It's all we have. I can't think in a civilized society, that we'd have anything other than justice... but justice we should have."

If you have any information on Christopher Young's murder, you're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000. Remember, your tips are completely anonymous.
