Durham Police Trying To ID Two In Connection With School Bus Shooting

Investigators think the bullet most likely came from a passing vehicle.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are trying to identify two people who they believe may have information regarding a shooting involving a school bus on Jan. 18 on Cheek Road at Hardee Street.

The bus, which was carrying 19 Shepard Middle School students, was stopped to let kids off the bus in the 1800 block of Cheek Road around 3 p.m. when a bullet hit the upper front windshield of the bus, police said.

Investigators think the bullet most likely came from a passing vehicle.

The bus driver was hit in the head by broken glass from the bullet, according to police. The driver was treated and released.
